The 2008 Matanzas 5000 was a huge success thanks to the efforts of the volunteers. The Matanzas 5k results are online as are some of the photos from the pre-race preparations and awards ceremony.

A cold, rainy morning couldn’t stop Ryan Woods.
Woods, 28, won the Matanzas 5000 road race for the second time in three years Saturday morning in downtown St. Augustine, posting a time of 14 minutes, 34 seconds.
Woods was an All-American runner in college at N.C. State and now resides in Daytona Beach. He finished second last year to Belgian runner Gareth Turnbull and was threatened for part of the race this year by Kenyan George Muthwi, who finished second.
